Video: Graham Elliot Sings Duet With Nakia, Hints At Possible Austin Restaurant
This weekend was the Austin Food and Wine Festival and my pal Graham Elliot was in town to be part of the event. Graham is well known as a celebrity chef, the Culinary Director of the Lollapalooza Music Festival, and he’s one of the three Judges on “Masterchef.” He also happens to be a little bit of a musician and songwriter himself. So, back when he first told me he was coming to town I said to him, “I am playing a show that weekend. You should totally get up and sing with us!” I initially invited him to sing “Sweet Home, Chicago” with us as an homage to the city he now has three restaurants in, but Chef was quick to offer up another song choice.
Once he got into town on Friday, he let the cat out of the bag about our duet during an interview at the W Hotel and then on Saturday evening, he tweeted a “warning” to his fans.
I’m taking the stage tonite for a special duet with my BFF .@nakia at Saxon Pub…you’ve been warned

Here’s what happened later that night at The Saxon Pub when he joined me on stage for a tender rendition of the Journey classic ballad, “Open Arms.” Notice Chef’s answer to my question about a possible new restaurant in Austin… I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!
