Nakia’s Notes: EXTRA - SXSW Showcase Announced, Nakia’s Birthday Party At Jovita’s 2/20

Guess who’s been selected to perform at this year’s annual SXSW Music Festival??

That’s right! Nakia & His Southern Cousins have been invited to perform and we are honored to be among such a long list of amazing new artists and incredible legendary performers. For a peek at the list, click the graphic to your left.

We will be performing Friday, March 14th at Lambert’s Downtown BBQ - Yep! That’s the place where a year ago we held our official CD release party and had our first show as a band! We are way ahead of the game and we have accomplished a lot, but none of it would have been possible without your support. Thank you very much!

The other big news is I am turning 33! Every year I like to throw a big party to celebrate and this one is certainly no exception! Wednesday, February 20th, we are throwing down at Jovita’s on South 1st Street and the show happens to be a part of the KGSR Social Club! KGSR will be on hand playing music trivia with some serious prizes (last week they gave away 2 Bruce Springsteen tickets and lots more!) and of course the night will be filled with some very special guests including hit songwriter, Monte Warden (Desperately, Making It Up To My Baby) and several more! This show is FREE and Mario Matteoli opens so you know the night is going to really rock!
