Well, today is the last day to vote in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll. For the last few weeks I have sent out these reminders asking you to vote and including my personal suggestions for all of the various categories. The truth is, there is just a lot of great music in Austin! So, as I have said throughout the whole thing, please remember that what I believe is most important in this process is folks actually going out to see live music to support their favorites and hopefully discover a lot of new favorites along the way. Sure, I would love for you to vote for me as BEST MALE VOCALIST or for the Southern Cousins as BEST NEW BAND or any other category, but I sincerely hope you continue to help to keep Austin’s music scene alive and well by seeing live music in Austin. As you might already know, this year’s Austin Chronicle Austin Music Poll is taking place as we speak. With only a couple of weeks left to vote, I wanted to send you out a quick reminder and offer up some suggestions for the ballot. Call it, the official Nakia endorsement if you will.
Remember, anyone can vote - whether you live in Austin, TX or not! However, ballot stuffing is a no-no, so please only vote once and then forward this email on to someone you think might not have voted yet. With so much amazing talent to choose from this year, I encourage you to not be too quick to vote. Instead, go out and see some live music this next week - perhaps specifically pick some shows you’ve always been curious about but were too busy to catch, or see something you would never see just to expand your palette a bit and help to make your votes really count! Below you will find a sample of categories that I would be thrilled for you to consider me for.
