Lights! Camera!! Action!!! DOH!!!!!

OK - once again I have totally screwed up by closing a freaking window and losing a blog entry. WHAT WILL I DO??
I was just about done too!
OK - here’s the skinny about the lost post -
Training started today at Apple for the Ridgepoint campus. It rocked. My team is going to be the best ever. My trainers are super cool - Irene and Kelly. They made it really comfortable and easy on us to learn.
I GOT ASKED TO BE IN THE MIKE JUDGE FILM!! Yep! They even wanted me to start as early as tomorrow morning at 7:30, but unfortunately, I am committed to this schedule with Apple until mid-June. But they told me as soon as I have dates I can work, they will send me. I am SO FREAKING EXCITED! But bummed too, because I can’t start working ASAP. I mean, they could discover me, like they did Matthew for Dazed. He was going to be a small part too. Oh well. Everything in it’s right place, right? RIGHT!
I made it home a bit after 6 and took a nap after a quick Papa Johns snack. Then Lowell headed over and we knocked out about 10 takes of Family Veins. Damn- I forget how tedious recording can be. But we promised each other tonight that we will work it until it’s right and that was good to hear from him. Although I knew it would be the case before he told me.
So, tomorrow - we start again after work and supper and hopefully we will knock out Family Veins’ music and at least another few takes on something else.
Stay tuned boys and girls -

Where’s Summer?
Posted on May 23, 2004
Graffiti’s in North Austin has truly become my home bar. Joe and Debby are just the best! Last night’s show was great and I had such a good time with the songs and the crowd.
Thank you to all the really cool folks who came out last night. Hmmmm…Where’s Summer? Kris? Yep… LAME!! I missed y’all. AGAIN. It’s all good though. There were several folks out last night who were Kia Newbies. Actually, the majority of the crowd was made up of folks who had not seen me perform before at all. Maybe heard me online, but not live. Thanks a lot for coming.
I think Joe and I determined that out of the entire night, there were only 4 people who came in that were not there to see me. Not bad. Some folks showed up that I didn’t even know at all! Good times, for sure.
Jeff Jacoby sat in on The Kind That Stays, Broken Spoke, The SF Anchored Heart Daniel Medley, and Weather Man. Man it was fun. The sound was a bit rough without someone mixing it for us, but we learned our lesson.
Tennille, Jeff’s girlfriend took some great pictures. They’re up at the Photo Gallery now.
John Medina did a superb opening set for me and impressed Joe enough to let him take my slot on the 25th since I will probably be working that night or out of town heading to Louisville. (More on Louisville this week as it progresses.)
Before the show, I got to run to A.D.’s birthday bash down at Pok-e-Joe’s. I was volunteering for SIMS with the newest member of the SIMS family, Emily.
During that time, I was very fortunate to meet my very first Austin, BMI rep, Jill McGluckin. Man, she’s so cool! We talked about a lot of different things and we are going to plan a lunch soon. I just happened to have a copy of the DEMO with me…(of course) and so she seemed really excited to hear the song that Jody played on the air, Broken Spoke.
But I made it home in enough time to run through the songs that Jeff was going to sit in with me and then off to the show. Again - Thanks to everyone who made it out. I hope to see more of you at the next Austin gig - Carousel Lounge!!
Peace -

I Want It Back!
Posted on May 21, 2004
A very exceptional night took place at St. David’s sanctuary tonight.
Shawn Colvin performing with Will Taylor & Strings Attached.
Having joined Will’s street team earlier in the month, I was on the list to attend in exchange for folding, labeling, stamping and dotting newsletters. I also listed Roberto The Concert Attendee and he helped us strike the stage after the shows were over.
The second set was broadcast on KGSR and Kevin Conner was on hand to announce. Jody Denburg was also on hand and he was up front for the second show.
I was fortunate enough to sit behind the stage in the choir loft. It was really cool. Glenda was also back there with me. I was super stoked to be there. For sure.
Shawn’s set included the songs she did with Will for the Ballet Austin collaboration they did in February.
This was my first time seeing Will and his gang, and WOW! I was SUPER impressed. Brad, the drummer, was just outstanding. He really has a grip on dynamics and the subtle sounds he added to the mix were amazing. Steve was a trip. He was playing bass one-handed and blowing a trumpet at the same time during one part of the show. All together, they were really tight.
There were a few snags in organization, but it all worked out. I got to play the baby grand Steinway after the stage was cleared. GOD! I hope I get to play there sometime. It sounded SO good.
After the show, Roberto The Hungry and I headed over to Kerbey Lane for some grub. YUMMY.
Here are some pics of the show. You can find the ones of me with Shawn Colvin and Glenda in then Photo Gallery of the site. Check ‘em out!

I hope to see you all out at Graffiti’s tonight at 9PM - John Medina kicks it off. It’s going to be a freakin’ blast! Jeff Jacoby is bringing his electric! Hell yes!
All the best -
