Nakia’s Notes: Save Austin Music, Nakia Plays Houston THIS Saturday Night!

First – Thanks for reading and supporting the band and me… In addition to our residency on Thursdays at Momo’s on W. 6th St. I have a few upcoming shows to tell you about so you can come out, bring your friends, and have a good time! Also at the bottom I’ve got a quick ACL recap for you if you didn’t make it this year. FRI. 10/17 – SAVE AUSTIN MUSIC GALA-ONE WORLD THEATER
If you don’t know about Save Austin Music (SAM) yet and what they are doing, I suggest you head over to their website and check it out! Hopefully you’ll get involved! This event will celebrate the premiere of their new Public Service Announcements featuring many great Austin musicians. So, come on down to one of Austin’s most unique and amazing venues the One World Theater and for about the same amount of money you’d spend on a large pizza and soda you will get something much better: Great Performances from some of Austin’s finest musicians! Also included at no extra cost will be LOTS of great food, and LOTS of alcohol! We go on at 10PM right after Ian McClagan & The Bump Band! After our set we will also be hosting the all-star jam which is sure to rock and have more than a few surprise guests! Be there! Don’t read about it later! Info about the event and tickets are here.

SAT. 10/18 – IN HOUSTON with CAROLYN WONDERLAND!
Yes, you read it correct… HOUSTON! We are making our Houston debut this Saturday night with the one & only Carolyn Wonderland! The show is at Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar at 1031 E 24th St and we take the stage at 9:30PM just before Carolyn! I realize that most of the folks reading these emails are from Austin, however, I hope you will consider using the “Forward This Email” link at the bottom of this email to send this note on to anyone you know in Houston inviting them out to see the show you’ve come to know and love so much! We have 3 places on the guestlist for you plus a friend if you reply to this email with “Heat Up Houston” in the subject! This will definitely be a great show to catch and we are really excited to be playing with Carolyn again!
