Nakia Sings With Del Castillo
Posted on November 27, 2007
The unveiling of the Austin Music Hall was a great time! The Southern Cousins set was out of this world and believe me I have TONS of video to put up later tonight, but first up is a clip of me joining Del Castillo on stage for a killer version of Pride And Joy.
And here’s a picture of me with Del Castillo lead singer, Alex Ruiz following the show!
Remember This Christmas
Posted on November 26, 2007
Thanksgiving is over. The turkey is in the fridge and yes I have already had a few sandwiches! I have SO much to be thankful for this year! Last year I took a moment at the end of the year to reflect on my accomplishments and things to be thankful for. I believe I will make this an annual post. Look for it after Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas! I wanted to post today to let you know that I have re-released my Christmas song, Remember This Christmas. This song is very close to my heart and I hope it finds a place in your holiday playlists.
I am offering the song as a FREE DOWNLOAD at this link here: Remember This Christmas
Please feel free to visit that page and share it with your friends, family, coworkers, and anyone else that you think might enjoy it.
Also, Remember This Christmas has been sent out to all the local radio stations in Austin, so if you want to hear it on one of them, give ‘em a ring and ask for Nakia - Remember This Christmas. If they say they don’t have it then tell the DJ to head over to http://www.nakia.net/christmas and download it!
OK - I am really excited about the show at the Austin Music Hall tonight. I hope to see lots of you out there!
Best Holiday Wishes!
Nakia

Just a quick note to let everyone know that the band has been added to the bill of the upcoming unveiling of the brand new Austin Music Hall!

The event is called IKHAHNA (Native American Choctaw word meaning “suddenly discover”) and you should definitely come down and plan to celebrate it with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 4 - 6pm, with live music to follow. Please bring a $10 donation for our friends at HAAM and The Sims Foundation.
The bands to perform that night are Kacy Crowley, Carolyn Wonderland, and Del Castillo!!
Put Dino Lee BACK On MTV!
Posted on November 16, 2007
Back when I was in the Small Stars, during the recording of the first CD, one of the guys brought over some old VHS tapes of a performer and I remember hearing them tell me as I sat down to watch… “This guy had it going on. This guy is what we should try to be more like…”
That guy, was Dino Lee.

South Padre Music Fans Love Nakia
Posted on November 6, 2007
We had an amazing time in South Padre Island this past weekend!
The beach was sandy, the water was warm, the air was PERFECT, but the crowd was the best part! Check out this great story from the Valley Morning Star printed the day after our performance at Wanna Wanna during the South Padre International Music Festival…

Bands from across Texas and around the world gathered on the Island for the three-day festival with more than 50 bands performing at 13 venues over the first two days.
Island resident Lynne Tate said she heard songs performed by Nakia and His Southern Cousins on the music festival’s Web site.
“I couldn’t stop dancing,” Tate said.
Tate and her friend Connie Pearcy, a Dallas resident, were at Wanna Wanna Saturday to hear the band perform live and bought CDs.
Pearcy traveled to the Island to attend the music festival, she said.
”That song ought to be the number one hit in the country,” Tate said. “That’s how I feel about it.”
