Finally – Updated – Downdated – Whatever!

Wow! I have been up late tonight because I have done nothing but sleep basically for the last three days.
You see, on Monday night I had the chance to see Alejandro Escovedo tape a performance at Austin City Limits for KLRU. I went with Roggie and her lovely daughter Laurel. We had a blast, but I had such a good time that I screamed a bit too much. Then I decided I would do the “healthy” thing and walk 15 some odd blocks BACK to the office where my car was not realizing I would be doing some heavy breathing of plenty of pollenated night-time air. Needless to say, my throat was NOT happy with me by the time I got home and I passed out rapidly only to awake Tuesday morning feeling mucho worse!!
So, I called Roggie and let her know and sent an email to be safe. Then went back to bed. The stars were in my favor as everyone who had an appointment with me that day called and cancelled first. Then by 3:30 I had made it to the AOMA in the Anderson Village to get acupuncture done for the first time. I also had bloodletting done and cupping. I have bruises folks, but I did feel much better when I left. I actually felt high.
But… That did not last for long. By the time dinner came around, I wasn’t that hungry and by 11PM Roberto the Doctor was taking my temperature to discover 103º – So it was off to the ER at Seton Northwest for a surprisingly SHORT visit. For info on why I found that hard to believe, see this entry.
So, I have some sort of viral and/or bacterial infection and they decided to give me 2 shots – Both in opposite ass cheeks. Some steroid in one and penicillin in the other. The latter cheek is not a happy camper and I can honestly not walk much at all right now it hurts so bad right now.
Today, my day was spent mainly in bed until dinner time and then back home immediately afterward where I have been banging on my iMac working on this here lovely new blog and adding some more photos to Flickr! What do you think? No… Really?? Tell me why don’t you?
Tomorrow, I will most likely be out of work AGAIN and be here at home in bed. So drop me a note if you wish to converse. I am still too hoarse to really do a lot of talking!
